Comment: I am looking for a Mary? Romanowski. We served together from1962 to1963 when I was raped and tortured by two military men. Big Ski as she was known stayed up all night trying to help me. Comment: Great site! We don´t have anything like it in Sweden, maybe because we still are so few. I´m a 1/Lt serving in the 10 mechanized brigade of the Swedish army. Comment: I visit the site often. I've been looking for friends who served in the WACs with me...took basic at Ft McClellan Oct 1957-Dec 57 Co. A 5th Platoon. Served 5 and a half years mainly in El Paso, TX at Beaumont General Hospital until May 1963. Specifically looking for Peggy Phipps who married Nils Block they were stationed in Germany & had two daughters; Jenny Priest who became a nurse, married and moved to upstate NY; Jodi Farrar who married a Texan from Robey; and Judy Ardnet who stod up with me when I married Ron DeComo (we're divorced now). If any one recognizes my name Karen Melville (DeComo)Bernhard, please contact me. I enjoyed the WACs and working in the hospital in Physical Therapy at Beaumont. I have some great memories of the time spent in the military. Actually I retired from the Federal Gov't with 23 years, most of which was spent working for the US Army inspecting reserve and national guard units out of Fort Meade MD. The experience I gained in the military was always beneficial in my civilian job with the Army as well as my current job with the Commonwealth of PA.

Comment: Serviced in the U.S. Navy from June 21, 1962-1965. Attended boot camp in Bambridge, Md., Corpschool @ Great Lakes and graduated on Jan. 1963. Reported to Long Beach Naval Dispensary and was discharged honorably on June 21, 1965. My maiden name at the time was Bell. If anyone remembers me by the name of Pepper Bell or Esther Bell (which is my Christian name, please e-mail me. I would love to here from anyone. I remember so many women I worked and played with but names escape me. The three years I served were the most memorable in my life and I would do it all over again.
