Comment: My mother was a WAC, got basic training in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, stationed at Pentagon, then ended up at the Presidio in SF where she met my dad who was recouperating there (He was 101st Airborne Div.). I am looking for information on what the WACS did at the Presidio and also any information related to their involvement in the Manhattan Project.

Comment: i have always wondered about women in military, but i can never find any women to talk to. I have always wanted to go on base for a few hours or something and talk to women who are in military and write a report because i'm a interested in military positions.

Comment: I have been thinking about joing the Marine Corps for a lil while now. I just had a few questions. I know my recruiter can answer most of them but I would like out put from a female. I just want to know what I should expect when I get to PI, how would y'all recomend I prepear my self for all the PT? This is probably the best site for women out ther I read it about once a day even though there the same stories...lol..But over all it's a GOOD site...

Comment: Have commented at this site a few times before looking for former shipmates. Former JO1, have been out almost 15 years. Still looking for anyone who was stationed with me at: Pensacola, FL; Asmara, Ethiopia; Misawa, Japan; Sigonella, Sicily; or Rota, Spain. Or at DINFOS, Ft. Benjamin, Harrison, IN. This is a good site, but honestly, I have never seen a notice from anyone I was stationed with.

Comment: Hello - I got out of the AF this year after 8 very fulfilling years. As a college junior now I have been interested in doing research on women in the military. It has been very disturbing that I have found very little. I have also been interested in joining in an organization for women vets and have found nothing. In fact I joined the American Legion just for that purpose and feel like an outsider as a women. It seems that the other men of the group seem to think my service doesnt really count.
