Comment: I just wanted to say that I really like the site! Im 14 years old and I am in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. It is a program for kids 11-17 who might be interested in a military career or just get a feel for how military life is like. This summer, I went to recruit training (a fancy name for boot camp which most of you know) for 2 weeks at Camp Dodge, Iowa and it was the best experience of my life. I know that boot camp is intimidating to most people, but I liked it so much that I wish I could go back. I met people from different places in the country and made many new friends. Later this summer, I went to a training in Chicago on a Naval vessel called the MANATRA YP-671. We lived on the ship for a week and we sailed to Milwakee. It was a lot of fun. Anyway, I want to know how it is being a woman Naval officer. My grandmother was a nurse in the Navy around WWII and my grandfather was also in the Navy at that time (where he met my grandma). Also, my uncle went to the Naval Acadamy, which is where my brother wants to attend. I also plan to join the Navy after college. Anyone who is in the Navy please write to me and explain a little!
