Comment: I'm a Navy veteran as well as a veteran of the MN Army National Guard. I served in the Navy from 1976 - 1980. I did my basic training in Orlando, FL and went to YN "A" school in Meridian, MS. I was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan from 1976-1979 and NAS Merimar, VF-124, San Diego, CA from 1979-1980. I later joined the MN Army National Guard from 1984-1986 as an MP. I wouldn't trade the good experiences I had and the things I learned for anything in the world and would do it again if I had to. My thoughts and prayers are with those who currently serve and my sincerest thanks for those who have served.

Comment: Hi, I served in the US AF from 1990-1997. I was fortunate enough to be stationed in the U.K. and Germany before I came stateside. I had a great time and loved all of the experiences and friends I made. I served during the Persian Gulf War, actually going to Saudi Arabia and Turkey during Desert Storm. My experiences are priceless. I would do it all over again with out any regrets.

Comment: I am currently taking a Women's college class, and had an assignment to look at your webpage. It's a very good site, and very interesting. The issues discussed in the site reminded me of when I wanted to join the reserves. I was of eligible age, but was single with two young daughters. While divorced, I was under constant threat of my ex trying to get custody of my girls, so I didn't sign up. I knew he'd pull something while I was in basic. But like some of the other women, I wanted some extra benefits, extra pay and training,a better life for my girls, college money - plus, I wanted to serve the country. I wish I had done it anyway but didn't want to deal with the hassle.By the time I could have done it, I was too old!
