Comment: Hello, I want you to know that this website is the best thing that could happen to us women vets, keep up the good work! I would like to start by saying my time in the army was indeed an experience in itself. I can't tell you how much fun I had along with the hard work. Boot Camp was the hardest and I thought I wanted to turn around and go back home because that time I missed home (my mommy). I can clearly remember my platoon sgt.Stressed to me, as she would continue to stress to my commarades that she (sgt) was aur MOMMY, well after I stopped crying I looked at her and said "YOU're NOT MY MOM." Well, I FOUND MYSELF ON LATRINE DUTY FOR ONE WEEK. I must say, even though I came from a very strict background and my mom was like a drill sgt. you would think I was more decilpined, as they say when one breakes away from their moms apron strings, that is when we feel free at last,Ha, ha ha!! We had a very good drill sgt. and commanding officer. I took basic training (Boot Camp) at Ft. McClelland, Alabama in 1970. I was with Charley Co. This was a nice little break for me to write my comments to you. I hope to hear from my army buddies I may have crossed paths with.

Comment: I have signed up for the Army and I can't wait to leave for basic. I have always wanted to join the millitary from the age of 5 or older. Serving my country is something that I have always wanted to do, this really became a reality when Sept. 11th hit home. I am really proud to be a American and a Women in the United States Army. I am glad there are others out there who feel the same way. Signed: Pvt. United States Army

Comment: My husband and I proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 through 1961. We met at Ft Sill, OK. and have been married for 42 years. Our youngest son proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1991 through 1995. He traveled the world on the USS Independence Aircraft Carrier and served during the Gulf War. He came back home and went to college - under the GI Bill, and received his degree in 1998. The Military is a very rewarding career for both men and women. God Bless the USA
