Comment: A great site. Being married to a former WAC, I realize the lack of honor and respect shown to female military veterans. I also wish to infomm those here of someting new on the political scene.
We need the women of this nation to stand up for thier rights as veterans.
This is not spam. This is for veterans and those concerned about veteran’s issues.
There is a group of dedicated veterans who are tired of veteran issues not being properly addressed by our government. They are tired of our military and veterans being treated as second-class citizens. They are tired of the politicians paying lip-service to the veterans, then ignoring them after the elections. This group of individuals have begun to ban together. They have established the Veterans' Party of America. This party could turn into a viable political organization with the support of enough people.
As of 10/24/03 the Veterans’ Party has been established in seven states and in the formation process in 12 other states. We are hopeful the other states will get started very soon.
This is for veterans and those concerned about veteran’s issues. This is also for you now serving. We are not only struggling for veterans, we are struggling for those still in uniform today as well as their families. We are talking about your future.

Comment: I am currently on active duty with only 5 days of service remaining. I have served in the 101st, 1st Armored and 10th Mountain divisions with 3 deployments, one combat. Now that I look at hanging up the uniform, I have not seen as many doors open for me as I had hoped or expected. I will literally be starting all over, no home, no job and a family to support. Yet I still do not regret my choices. I have learned so much in my 8 years as a military police woman and wouldn't trade it for anything. It has been a blessing.I am proud of what I have done, the woman I have become and the friends I have made. My children may not ever wear the best clothes, but they will wear them with pride. Knowing that there are soldiers who unselfishly give up their comforts and go without for someone else to have freedom and live in peace. For those entending to join the military, please take your time in making this decision and set goals that you will force yourself to obtain. When times get bad always remember, you are making history for your family, your children and most importantly yourself. God never gives you anything you can't handle, so keep searching within yourself for the strengh and courage. It's there. Thank you to all of the ladies who paved the road of military success to my coming and good luck to all of those who will pick up where I left off.

Comment: I remember first seeing this site 4 or 5 years ago when I was considering joining the military. It helped me make an informed decision.
Currently, however, I'm begin to suspect that my decision to join might've been the wrong choice. I've been researching the educational benefits associated with the M. GI Bill and have found a rather disturbing trend in the information I've been reading. It seems that the GI Bill doesn't promise all that I've hoped (and have been lead to believe) it would deliver.
If there's anyone out there who has just recently seperated from the military and is using their GI Bill, could you please shoot me a quick e-mail and let me know how its working out for you?
