Comment: It's nice that there is a gathering place for women veterans. I served in the Army, however was medically discharged prior to completing my enlistment. I wish there was a way I could serve my country in the military now. It would be nice to have a Reserve Corp of older veterans to help out here at home.

Comment: I hope I can find some long lost friends here. I did my basic at Ft. McClellan starting in May 1979 with Delta Co. then my medic schooling at Ft. Sam Houston. My first permanent duty was with the HHB 72 Field Artillary Brigade at Peden Barracks in Wertheim, Germany. After two years there, I went to Ft. Campbell in 1982 and was with the 82nd Combat Support Hospital. My reserve duty was with the 349th General Hospital at the Los Angeles Reserve Center. Comment: This site is pretty good, except for the knowledge that is is even here. It's good to hear that there is advice being given to those who are going in. The service is/was a great learning tool for me and I hope it is for others too. After being in, I don't regret any of it at all. I think being in the Navy made respect many more things that I never did before. Hopefully this will help somebody out there with there desicion to join, you won't regret it. Comment: just found this site..think it will be fun to try and locate former sailors or WAVES as we were called..boot camp apr 74 orlando fl company headed by pn2 vicky facler...lynn sill was our leader and my troublemaker friends included lisa heydon, jeannie rouseau.,mary pavinski ..served a total of five years active followed by two reserves..discharged 4-6-79...served as an hospital corpsman followed by changing rates to radioman.. duty stations charleston sc..great lakes ..san diego and nusc det autec andros island bahamas (tough duty but someone had to do it)... still working for uncle sam in uniform(blue) as a letter carrier..look forward to hearing from any and all who remember me
