Comment: Enlisted in Erie, Pa. Served at SHAPE Headquarters, Paris, France 1951 Married Sgt.Ray Krueger USA of Brownton, MN while in Paris. Married 43 years when he died from cancer. Now married to a retired Marine who is active with the Marine Corps League. MCL will not allow me to join even as an Associate member. By-laws say membership for me offered in MCL Auxilliary ONLY! All other veterans are offered MCLmemberships in the MCL. Hope this site helps get the word out about this blatant discrimination. Thanks!

Comment: What a great site! I'm retired now, and, have lots of time to read, and so, in reading your comments, I heard so many proud voices all sharing their happiest times. I too share the same experiences, and, hold my 20 years in the Army as a very special time in my life. It truly gave me the tools I needed, so to speak, to meet the many challenges awaiting me as a civilian. The majority of my military career was in the Recruiting field, and, I had assignments in NJ, Calif., Mass., Florida, Chicago, and, Cincinnati, Ohio. Prior to my career in the Recruiting field I completed basic tng. at Ft. Mcclellan, Ala., went to Signal school at Ft. Gordan, Ga., assigned to Ft. Meade, Md., re-enlisted and, was assigned to Frankfurt, Germany. I had a brief assignment at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, then onto Calif. I hope I'm not getting carried away here with too much to say, but, my wish is that some of the folks I met or worked with, or, had some influence in their joining the Army, might say hi. Anyone else, please feel free to do the same.
