When my husband got out of the Navy, he filled out paperwork for VGLI. It
has since been cancelled. I was never offered it when I got out, and am wondering
if anyone knows how I can get this coverage.

Hey Beth!!
This is an interesting question that I too would like to know the correct answer. My husband and I had VGLI when we were discharged and intended on keeping it. While we were both training for our current careers, money was a little tight and I stopped paying the payments. I wish I wouldnt have as it was only around $8 a month for about $50,0000 ins I believe.
Anyway, what I would like to know is, can it be reactivated? I thought that you had to get it when you were discharged or you couldnt get it at all, and that if you gave it up...you couldnt get it back. Maybe that has changed or maybe I just thought it was like that but it was a good price to pay for tht kind of insurance and Id be interested in getting it back if I could. Maybe someone that knows will come along and help us out!
