Recent Headlines on Sexual Harrassment/Abuse in Military

After reading all the headline articles and watching last Friday's segment on 20/20, I am a little bitconcerned about the allegations of abuse in the military.Does anyone have any thoughts on what I might facewhen I go in next March and how protected I will be?Thank you.

Hey Biba!**********Its great to hear from you again...my computer has been down so I havent been around here much recently but it is finally fixed:)!I really dont think that you will experience any probablems with sexual Harrassment ....esp in Basic Training. Navy recruites are very well protected...and your company commandors will be female. Let me know if you have any questions, and keep in touch. I still want you to write whlie your in basic training so everyone can get an idea of what that is like now...it would be kind of like taking us all with you, hehe. Sherry, recruit division commanders (formerly company commanders) now are responsible for recruits of both sexes.**I know two female RDCs, and they tell me that they are paired with a male RDC when pushing a division.**The divisions themselves are now co-ed [but not for sleeping arrangements... ;-)].**Regardless, I agree that our new recruit should have no fear of sexual abuse in boot camp.**Happy Holidays!!!
