My fiance wants to go into the navy or marines, and he was told that because he has asthma that he was disqualified.**He hasn't had an attack since he was a little boy, and now at 21 he doesn't even use his inhaler.**I don't see how the recruiter can say that to him, not being a doctor.**If he can do about 300 sit-ups, 150 push-ups, and 400 deep knee bends without even breathing hard, then why is he disqualified?**Please help!**Thanks =)

: I really don't think getting another recruiter will help.**They say if you ever have had asthma it is automatically disqualifying, because it always show up in basic training.**The amount of running and physical activity triggers it.**They do say that you can apply for a waiver.**Maybe he should just withhold that information if he really doesn't have a problem with it.**Lots of people go in divulging less information than they should. Can you tell me how you can join without giving all the medical info. From what I understand is they do a federal background check and a medical check. Or have I been told wrong. Is it worth a chance f getting caught? I don't think so. But I know it is done. I would like to know how.
