Hi, I'm 34 years of age and a recent graduate of R.N. school I will recieve my B.S.N. in 3 semesters. I spoke to an officer recruiter about the reserves. He said I needed two years experience as an R.N. by that time I'll be 36. He said I could put in for a waiver. I would also need a waiver regarding the fact that I am divorced with two young boys. How difficult are these waivers to obtain? also I've been reading the answers to some of the questions on this site. I would like to know if I will have to go to an interview for OCS? I read that some women applied several times before thay were excepted to OCS, Will I too findthis to be the case as a reservist or is it unique to active duty? Can anyone tell me what I can exspect as a 36 year old women in the reservesand if being accepted is a real possability or has my age and divorced status with two children already made my desire to join a highly unlikely event?Thank you!**********

As a BSN you could be a Commisioned Officer and not have to go through OCS.**These waivers are not difficult to obtain.** Stick w/your nursing classes and good luck!
