Hi Diane,**** I am not a CTR, I am a CTM but I have worked with CTR's for my whole Navy career and one thing that I can tell you for sure is that no matter what rate you want to become, it is hard work and a lot of dirty work for the lower ranks.**If I may offer a suggestion, the first time someone asks you if you want to change rates, DO IT! Become a CTM or a CTT or you want any kind of AIS (Automated Information Security) billet.**This is working on (programming and such) computers.**If you stay in the "R" branch field, Yes you have a good chance to go to sea.**You will sit on your butt and listed to people talk or listen to morse code and type on the typewriter/computer whatever they say. It can get reeeeeeeeeal boring.**The CT field is a great field to get into but as with all of the rest of the military it is affected by the drawdown so there are less and less places to go.**Please remember that you only get out of something, what you put in to it.**E-Mail me back with any other ?'s you may have.************************Dwight (decressy@juno.com): I'm scheduled to go to basic in november but am on a waiting list for august so i can get the hell out of here. first question i have is that, is there anyone that's also going into ctr? second, mid august?
