questions about the nuclear program and ROTC

hey, my guy has entered the navy and explained to me that he is doing an ROTC program involving a nuclear program where he will learn information about computers. He told me that in**a year he will be chosing a college and i will be able to see him. I however read up on the nuclear program and it sais that this is not the case and that he would be going to a college in florida then soon after be aboard a submarine. I am greatly confuzed. I fear that in reality i wont be able to see him for quite a while. Can anyone please help clarify what exactly he will be doing??? -thanks
