Macy, I think that a book about the navy is great and would be marketable. But I too agree that you're topic is too wide. Everyone in the Navy has different experiences, even those in the same rates. I would also question your ability to grasp the nuances of military life if you have never served. "I'm not saying that you're not smart but the military is a totally different world and one short cruise will be nothing like what really happens. Maybe you should find a female who recently retired and work with her on a story of her career. Women who came in in the 70's and are just retiring has seen more changes and has broken more barriers that most of us today couldn't even imagine. Good luck and if you do decide to write your book, I will be sure to look for it. :)

Entered in the 70's, hell, talk tothose that were in in the 40's, 50's, or even 60's. They are the ones who have seen real change.

To Macy, I have just found this web site and have read the notations on your thoughts about publishing a book about the navy. Yes, you definitely want to canvase recent retired/separated personnel for their information. Please let me know what does happen. By the way, I just transferred to the Fleet Reserve effection 99JAN31. Good Luck.: Macy, I think that a book about the navy is great and would be marketable.
