Than you to all the people who answered my question on the general message board. I'm off to search for more information. Just a few questions before I go off to talk to the AF and USN reqruiters. Does the USN have another type of officer. Such as the army has CO and NCO's Does anyone know about RM? Has it been changed to anything else? Is it possible to be stationed onboard? I'm in Los Angeles, will I be sent to Illinois too? I know we use to have a naval unit in mountain view california and also near San Diego.

Any and all information will help. Catherine who's finally lost the weight to do this! Chat if you want ICQ# 38038204

Then there are positions, Commanding Officer, Executive officer, and such. They end with officer in the title. Yes, if you enlist you will go to Illinois. The other two boot camps, FL and CA, were closed. Yes, you can get stationed onboard a ship. (But land bases are also refered to as being onboard such and such base). There are still bases in California. San Diego has at least one, Naval Air Station North Island. RM is a rating, Radioman, where you work in communications.
