Would like to hear from any other female Warrants. If you are on active duty do you find it difficult to find "a job". SELRES female Warrants how about you?

I am currently on retirement leave after 27 years service (11 as a CWO - Ship's Clerk). Please email me and I will answer your questions.

Hello, Jackie & Monica!! What a shocker! The way people stare, I was beginning to think I was the only one! ;) Monica, you must have REALLY thought you were the only one out there! Would love to hear from either of you.

Not sure what you mean about finding a "job", Jackie. You mean a civilian job upon retirement? If you mean active duty.... I'm a little confused. I most definately have ZERO trouble finding a job!!! (I'm reporting aboard a DDG as EMO.) Maybe you could drop me a line & let me know what you mean specifically?

Take care, Tracy

Thanks for the response - I am curious if other female Warrants have the same problem I seem to be encountering in the Reserves - as a Ships Clerk - there are only two local billets that I can fill and I have had one of them since my commissioning almost 9 years ago.

: Take care, Tracy Tracy - Thanks for your response!! How nice to know there ARE others like us! When I asked about finding a "Job" I was referring to military in general and the Reserves specifically. I have held the same billet for almost 9 years and qualify for only one other according to our manpower office. I was wondering if this circumstance is an area phenomena or more wide spread. Congrats on your billet aboard the DDG. Let me know how that goes. How can we get more females interested in applying for the Warrant/LDO program? I have talked til I'm blue in the face and most of these young sailors look at me like I'm silly - they think they don't have a chance in the world. Any ideas? Please keep in touch - it is so nice to hear from other women who know what I mean about the odd looks and the hard work. Jackie

The higher you get, the less billets there are. I was active duty and stayed in San Diego after commissioning. There were plenty of LDO/CWO billets here but you have to develop a network with the people holding them. Where are you located?
