I'm a little confused about whether you can enlist as an officer with a Bachelors Degree and get Gradate School training/education through military or not. The information the Navy Recruiter sent didn't go into detail but I'm under the impression that I can go into Navy as officer with Bachelor's and get further degree. But I'm also finding other information that contradicts this. What is the truth and what can I expect. I e-mailed the local recruiter 2 weeks ago and still haven't gotten a response. Which also concerns me, since she approached me first. A little clarification would help a lot. Thank you.

You can get graduate school training through the military but it will cost you. After your initial obligation of 4 years, usually after your first sea tour, you will have the chance of going to the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California where you will probably be given about 2 to 4 choices of what to get your Masters in, depending on what the Navy need. This will cost you about another 4 years of obligated service, depending on your program. NPG School is normally only offered to officers who have exemplery records.
Should you decide the Naval Postgraduate School is not for you, you could always take advantage of Tuition Assistance where the Navy will pay for 75 percent of your college classes wherever you arelocated as long as they apply to a valid graduate degree. Again using this will cost you another couple of years of obigated service.
The plus side about Monterey is that your sole job while attending school is to go to school, so in effect you are paid to get your Masters Degree all the while pulling in your regular pay. But, using Tuition Assitance means you are working a true navy job and have to take classes in your spare time.
Also, the Navy does have a PhD program in that if you have a Master's and you apply for the program, and you are accepted (less than 10 are) you will be able to get your doctorate in a Navy prescribed field, where you can then go and teach at the Naval Academy. Downside of this, you must be fairly senior in rank to get selected.
iope this helps.
