Ok. Here is another question about the reserves. How do you ever advance in the reserve? Assuming your civilian job isn't related to what you do in the navy, you are only spending one weekend a month and two weeks a year working on your skills. So, how do you advance? Very slowly? Or can you work on that in your "off hours"?

:YOU CAN DO COURSES ON YOUR OWN TIME AND PUBLIC SERVICE IS ALWAYS GOOD FOR YOUR EVALUATIONS. ADVANCEMENT IS DONE BY THE BI-ANNUAL RATING EXAMS. RATES IN THE RESERVES ARE THE SAME AS THE "FLEET".
