I had a surgery about 5 years ago to remove a bunion. In this surgery a screw was put in my foot, where the bone was cut away. This has had absolutely no affect on me physically. Will I be eligable for the Navy? Thanks in advance for any answers!

Hi Sharon. Ask your recruiter but it sounds to me like this will require a waiver. All that means is that when you do the physical at MEPS (Military Entrance Procesing Station in case the term's new to you), they will probably ask for a letter from your doctor saying that your foot's fine and it can do everything a foot should do. They just need to know that it won't stop you from being able to do all of the PT at basic. I really doubt that bunion surgery will disqualify you. Good luck, Kate
