: I need advice, I would like to hear from some female Marines about life in the corps.**I am a college freshman attempting the 92-day program.**And have wanted to make the military a part of my life ever since I could walk.**But, I don't see many female marines.**I'd like to know what to look out for, the enlisted corps, OCS, and being taken seriously in the Corps.**My E-mail address is adruiz@lonestar.utsa.edu****** Any advice, stories or experience would be welcome. April I was in the Navy for six years and loved it.**Wished I never got out.**It got to be a real pain though.**Because one person I let ruin it for me.**And he was a e-7 pain!!!!!!**Don't take any crap from anyone and put your best foot forward.**Parts of GI Jane were true.**They will try and stereotype you until you prove otherwise.**Lables are difficult to get rid of.**Especially if you decide to become an Officer.**They look at you and your personal life as well when it comes to fitreps.Since they have been downsizing for awhile, so they will give you the biz two times worse than a male.**Even though you are flawless in every performance.**Don't let any man harrass you--sexually or not sexually!**I let one guy do that to me and I should have written him up sooner than I did.Being a female does have its advantages.**Some men are more liberal than others.**It is the nineties you know.**If it is what you want----do it.**If its in your heart------complete it.**God will show you the way.**He did it for me--he'll do it for you.**Write to me if you need more advice or whatever.**I can tell some good stories too!!
