: Hi, my name is LeeAnn and I am 25. I am am about to go to boot camp in late August and I still haven't chosen my mos. I am interested in the intel field, but my recruiter won't seem to tell me much about it. I have been asking him about a couple different jobs and he keeps giving me the run around. He said that I would have to put "open field" and let the planners down at Meps figure it out. Is this true? My husband is a former Marine (he was in about 10 yrs ago when he was 18) and he said he remembers guys who had "open field" on their papers and after boot camp they just received any billet that had an opening. I don't want this to happen. If anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You in advance.A motivated but confused Dev

: As far as I know this not true!**You should have taken an ASVAB test and qualified for any number of MOSs.**Based upon your scores you should be told what MOSs you qualify for and should be allowed to enter with a guaranteed contract.**Whether this takes place at the recruiting office or MEPS, ensure that it does happen before you Swear In, IF this is your desire.**As far as the Intel field is concerned, there are several areas that this could involve from languages to gathering information.**Hope this was helpful.
