I'm doing a report on women in front-line combat for my political science. I was wondering what level of support there was for this. I would appreciate any past, current or future Marines comments. My opinion is that they should be there. Some women are definately tougher and more capable then us men.

Good post!!!

This is not an easy topic to write about, so I must commend you for it. It is not about women WANTING to be on the front lines. Noone WANTS to be there. However, we have enlisted for the same exact reasons as men: To SERVE our country. If my country is at war, then Hell Yes I want to be there fighting for our freedom. It should not be a gender based decision. Women are police officers right?? They go out everyday in "battle." They don't want to be shot at, but they go out every day knowing that the possibility is there. They go out to SERVE and PROTECT. If my country is at stake, then I want to be there knowing that I am doing everything I can to keep Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness alive. It should not be an issue of should women be on the front lines. It should be an issue of should a Marine ( soldier, airman, sailor, etc) be there.
