Yesterday I was invited to be in the veterans day parade. It was the frist time anyone ever thought 0of me as a person let alone a vet. Pattie is the president of the ladies auxiliary ofthe VFW in Hurst, Tx. , she also is a volintier at the Ft. Worth VA Out Patient Clinc. I was overwellemed but went anyway. While there was a slow down a man came out of the crowed and said Simper Fi Marine. I had no idea that he knew I was a Marine, but though it scared me at frist, then we had gone down the street a block I looked down and on my electrick scooter there was my Simper Fi and Marine sticker. I found out latter that the man had been an officer in the corp. This was the biggest parade ever in Ft. Worth we had over 5,000 people in the parade. Often I feel very much alone with no family and few friends, I'm learing how to use this terminal slowly, so if anyone can direct me on how to get in on chat lines etc. Plese help. The most important thing about yesterday was learning I'm not alone and I do belong to one of the best this country has to offer. I'm very proud of all of you ladies, THANKS FOR LETTING ME BE A PART OF YOU. SGTSARA****

I was really touched by that Sara, I went to a VFW ceremony, it wasn't nearly as large(!) but I could barely contain myself with the feeling of unity and pride of service. I was awakened to the realization that everyone in town did not come to watch and honor the vets of that locale. I am planning for OCS and hope to be a part of this brotherhood/sisterhood. You're not alone. Feel free to email me. Unfortunately I am not that versed on the 'chat' stuff so somebody.. pick up on that one. It was inspiring to read your post. Thanks for sharing and feel free to share your past experiences, I know I love to hear from former, current and future Marines:).
