Just wanted to let all you wonderful peeps know that though I'm lost I have not forgotten you!! My monitor on my computer has gone out and I have to depend on the sheer kindness of my few and far-between and mostly computer illiterate friends!! :o) Missing all the motivational talk like crazy, and especially missing the threatening messages from Mon-Mon. ROFLMAO! If anyone would like to snail me drop Mon a line and I'll leave it at her discretion. She has my addee. Although she rarely uses it, I'm feeling a little cut off from the world here and going through major internet withdrawel.

I always wanted to send my D.I.s a hershey kiss in the mail. A couple of them would have just laughed knowing it was from me. The others, half the United States would have been running. I've always wondered what people have done to the D.I.s after boot camp. I bet D.I.s have the best stories of all.

Actually one of my D.I.'s Jerri Connelly became my first sargeant at HQMC. I about freaked when I saw her report in. She didn't remember me but I sure remembered her.

We became friends and use to go to wrestling matches together in D.C. and see the Opera when we'd be given tickets by some general who couldn't make it at times. I didn't do anything to get even with her but she sure thought me some tricks to get even with others without getting in trouble.

We had a NCO quarters in the barracks and had our own kitchen. I often like to make my own meals. I especially like to make double chocolate brownies with walnuts and the gals they could just help themselves to my food. I didn't eat hotdogs and such as most of them bought. I'd eat steaks, pork chops and such with veggies. I was telling Connelly about it one day that they were eating my food and she stated 'off the record, and I'll deny I ever said this if you get caught---- make a batch of your favorite brownies and add a few pieces of exlax in it and you will quickly see who is in pain the next morning and running to the bathroom. So I did just that that Friday evening and left the brownies there closed tight. Well Saturday morning came and you heard groaning and moaning and we couldn't get out of these gals way quick enough. There were 3-4 of them sick as dogs but guess what they never ate another piece of my brownies. Hee!Hee! OF COURSE I OFFERED to get medical help for them. Asked them what did they eat that made them feel that way. None of them would admit to the brownies, but all stated 'I think I've caught the flu or something.' Yeah right, when pigs fly. I know! I know! That wasn't very nice, but they never ate other folks food again.

Thanks! I am going back to college and have been wondering how to solve the food problem like that. You never know.

That was the best day of boot camp for me, way back when...Graduation day was not exactly normal for us. They took the senior drill instructor out in a straight jacket. According to the two guys taking her away, apparently her husband had turned her in because she liked to inflict pain on people. I could only drop my luggage and say that there really is a god. The other D.I.s were pretty cool tho. One had to help me pack because I bought everything that said Marine on it at the PX and could not get it all into my bags. All the D.I.s laughed at me.
