My daughter was born at Yokota Airforce Base hospital while I was on active duty stationed at MCAS Iwakuni. I was given a military form 'Certificate of Birth Abroad', which was notarized and was used the same as a birth certificate. I have lost it and need to replace it. Can anybody assist me in HOW to go about replacing it and WHO to contact. Have gotten the run around to everyone I have tried to contact.

Thanks!

I had the same problem, I was born abroad and lost my birth certificate. What I did was I had grandparents living in Germany and I had them go to the hospital and get my birth certificate and while they were at it they made sure it was translated into English. As for the Certificate Abroad, I believe I have an address to write to get a copy (not on me, as I am on vacation and not at my house.)but you may want to try talking to Passport agencies. That is where I got the address to write to get my copy. I hope this will help. If you have any questions e-mail me. I will be home 22 Jan, however, I have someone checking my e-mail daily for me. Good Luck Lynn Marie.
