Hello ladies... I'm about to enlist in about 10 days and hope to ship out in a month. Just wanted to see if anyone has experienced same problem with recruiters, - mine is a nice guy but he likes to 'talk around the bush' and often doesn't give me straight answers. I'm a military spouse (not Marine), most of my friends are in the service and I've done a lot of research myself, so I already know how a lot of things are, and there's no need for recruiters to hide something. For example, mine won't tell me when will my exact ship out date be; comon, girls ship out only ~ once a month and I know they have the schedules. Then, how much I'll be making as E2 (I've got college credits); I don't know how to calculate it since my hubby is getting out while I'm in boot, who gets BAH and what about GEObach pay? Also, I've heard about the guaranteed duty station deal that one might be able to get; again, he tried to change the subject very quick and I didn't get an answer about how it works. Plus there are more issues I'm confused about. Just had to vent here a little :) Please let me know if anyone knows more about those subjects.

There's a very good website on what every person would want to know about joining any branch of the military. The website is http://usmilitary.about.com/

They have a very good article on what you can expect from recruiters:
