Hello!I'm thinking about joining the Navy after I finish university... it's a little less than 2 years from now.**But I know something, my parents won't agree with my decision.**I want to go to the Officer school.Nobody in my family never went in the Military, so I think that I'll have to face a lot of misconceptions about it, particularly about the issue of the place of women in the Navy(--by the way, sorry about my bad spelling, english is my 2nd language)So if you have personnal experiences to share with me it will be very usefull for me :-)If you have any tips for me, not only on this subject, like about the training I should get before I take all the tests, what's basic training like, etc, don't be shy to add them.**It will weight a lot in my decision.(Psiit:**I'm 5'1, and I weight between 96-100 pounds....am I too small to survive to the Navy training????)

I'm assuming you are Canadian since you posted this message in the Canada Message Center. The best place for you start is by contacting the local recruiting centre in your area. The number is 1-800-856-8488 or www.recruiting.dnd.ca. Your size has nothing to do with passing the training you do need to be in good physical condition but the toughest part is the mental challenge. If you have strong personality you can do it. But check it out at the recruiting centre.
