Actually, i am very much leaning on the TO join side but have a few questions:**I am 32, single mom of one, graduating nursing this summer.**Am I too old?**Single mom a bad idea or will they not let me join...what do I tell them?**what can i expect as far as jobs go for nursing?** Any military medical people out there to give me the low down?**thanks in advance.

You are not too old. The mandatory retirement age is 55. A minimum of 2 years are required for other ranks, so persons as old as 53 can join. Being a single mom is irrelevant. Many people in the militay are single parents. The military has positions for trained nurses, although I do not in fact know if there are any opening right now. I do know that there is a high turn over of doctors. I would advise contacting the nearest recruiting center. They are in the blue pages of any Canadian phone book. You could also visit the DND website. It has links to the recriuting home page which will tell you what persons they are seeking. Good luck.
