I thought I would pop in here...
I recently went on a TDY to the Canadian Forces Base in Kingston, and I must say that it was a wonderful experience.
I've worked around Canadian forces at an assignment a couple years ago in Texas, but never had the real opportunity to work side by side with any of your troops.
It was a pleasure. I'm still impressed at how well we were taken care of. We had some issues with equipment, that, if it hadn't been for the men and women of the Canadian forces, we would have been dead in the water. The speed, efficiency and hospitality of the people we got to work with was refreshing.
Add to that the beauty of the area (I'd never been to Canada before), the friendliness of the people and everything else...not to mention -- y'all have some darn fine beer :). It's a trip I'll not soon forget, and a trip I hope to make again someday as a vacation.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you all. I'd be proud to serve with any of you, any day.
