I find it interesting that we were debating this issue way back in '69 when I was in Nam.
As I recall, we covered most of the pro's and con's that I've read on this opinion page. Seems to me that way back then we couldn't solve or resolve the issue either. But, it also seems to me that about the only thing that a woman cannot do because she's a woman is father a child. So, laws and regulations and rules restricting a ersons right to perform a task based solely on the gender of the proposed participant are, in my opinion, basically stupid.
While I really can't imagine why anyone would want to serve in combat, I also can't understand why someone should be prohibited just because they were not born with male sex organs.
