I am with great interest following the debate about women in combat. I can't see what you all are arguing about.I suspect that everybody wants to have the best possible Armed Forces. Well then you need the best soldiers. In Sweden(Europe) where I live, some clever guy realised that, and the ArmedForces recently investigated what it will take mentally and physically to succeed in combat. From the result they decided what tests recruits must pass. And that is all recruits, both men and women. And the tests differ betwen mobile-units and non-mobile units, and elit-fighting-forces. **And just because someone have become a conscript it doesnt mean that he or her will be sent out to war. All the time the soldiers are evaluated, those that don't have what it takes during the year will not get a place in the organisation. Only the best get the honour of serving our country. ** And we are judged upon how we are doing our job, not upon our sex.** I know at least two women that have succesfully completed their time as conscripts in the EliteFightingForces, and I have met several women that have done the same in the Infantry and some of them have become Officers. One graduated as the best ranked in her course at the Infantry-Officers-School.So whoever says that women will not manage, you are wrong. We have real life G.I Jane's here, and they are good. How can yo know how much a person can take(before tested), if that person isn't you? This whole debate is just a question about the male sensitiv pride, some men are so afraid that some day it will come a woman that "outrank" them.That would be healthy for many I think, maybe then they could start to judge women as individuals instead as one group. And for all the women that don't want women in combat. Speak for your self instead, not everyone is like you, and no one is forcing you to join.
