Hello! I am on my first visit to this sight, but I wanted to send a reply to you (and whoever else cares to read this) about your message onhow people (this page) are not addressing the issue of the problems sex in the military causes.**I haven't read enough to make that accusation, butin general I agree that where ever males and females are gathered hormones will fly.**But I am in favor of women being able to choose what role theyplay in the military however, all involved need to be more responsible.**I feel that ALL service members male and female alike need to put their job before their person lives.**I recall your comment saying that relying on self-discipline, good judgement etc. basically betrays reality and human nature.**I can see where you are coming from that is just the facts in life. I suppose I am being too idealistic in saying that sexual relations should be banned from all members serving in the same group because as we all know sometimes we can't controlwho we like and how we feel.**But on the other hand if military members are supposed to be disciplined, mentally and physically and put honor, country and the good ofthe team first then they should realize the implications of one careless act-done in the "heat of the moment" on everyone in the company/ship or whatever the case.**I wish that passing a law, or giving a good pep talkwould solve the problem, but things are not that easy unfortunately. I suppose I just wanted to tell you that I understand your view, and I thing both of us wish thatthings could be "fixed."**If either men or women, or both hope to get past this equality fight then they need to be more resposible and put themselves on equal, neutral ground. Thanks for listening.R.Young and opinionated

Nothing wrong with being opinionated in my opinion!**=)**Just FYI, certain relationships between coworkers are in fact prohibited.**Any relationship that is unduly familiar and doesn't respect the differences of rank and grade between:**(1) An officer and an enlisted (period.) (2) A senior and subordinate. The senior-subordinate relationship can be extended into areas that aren't readily obvious, for example, the person who leads a fireparty should not be dating anyone on their fireparty, even though those people may not work for them on a daily basis.**These kind of relationships are considered "prejudicial to good order and discipline".**Dating, cohabitating, or even becoming "bestest buddies" isn't allowed in these circumstances.**It's not necessarily a gender thing, either, as a male officer who is known to be best friends with one of his male subordinates is equally guilty.**It's called "fraternization", & it's punishable.
