#$&*%!!!**Just got back from Ft. Jackson where, in days of yore (1985), I was a boot.**They tore down the old WWI era "white castle" barracks I stayed in then (oh well they really were fire hazards).**But what really got me was when I saw a line of FREAKING BUSSES going out to pick up the trainees from the ranges.** BUSSES?!?**Pray, what is wrong with their feet?**I'd like to know when this revolting development originated (I think I have a pretty good idea).**Everywhere we went then (and since time immemorial) was by LPC (leather personnel carrier).**When the balloon goes up our current batch of trainees won't have greyhound around to keep them out of the line of fire.**God how I hate Clinton's Army.

AMEN! Although I have to admit when I went to Ft. Benning in 1986 we only had to walk if the training area was under "5 miles" away. I never realized a mile was such a flexible unit of measure. Keep the faith, Don
