I'm tired of hearing lame execuses from my fellow, insecure males.**They are just afraid women may outperfom them.**I had the pleasure to serve with many women while in the Army and would be follow the majority of them in combat.**We need their talents and they deserve the right to compete for all positions.

I agree. I've been thinking that some men probably get insecure because combat (and the military in general) is seen as a "macho" role. I think some men get pride out of thinking that only men can handle this role. They freak out at the thought of women in the military (especially in combat), because if women can do the job -- that means these men can no longer take pride in their exclusively "macho" role, and must find self-esteem in some other way. After all, if a woman can do the job.....that means they're doing "women's work!" Such men tend to take their insecurites out on women, when women should actually be admired for doing such work. This is not a reflection on the women's abilities, but on the men's insecurities. If only more people would realize this!
