I'm a single mom, with only one child, he's 5 and I have outside help., butdon't know if I will be allowed to enlist.**I'm 29, can I still enlist inthe regular A.F. or R.A.F.?**I know that I can get into the A.N.G., but Ireally would rather be in the A.F.**This something I have allowed everyoneto talk me out of, you know the lines.**Military life's not for girls, youcouldn't hack it. etc...**anyway, I'm tired of listening to those who won'tlisten.**This is a dream of mine.**Not something I've just decided to do,because of school, don't know what to do next.**I've known all along what Iwanted, but till now was afraid of others opinions, stupid yes, butchangable.**So what are my chances,**It would be really sad, to find outthat I can't now because of my age, now that would be a crying shame.

I have really bad news for you. You can't enlist, not because of your age, but because you're a single mom. The only way you could is if you gave up total custody of your child, something totally untollerable. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I've had extensive talks with recruiters about this very topic. Sorry to disappoint you on this one. You are eligable to join the Guard, or the Air Force Reserve, which I am in because of a similar problem. You still get GI Bill in these services, and it may be something you seriously consider.
