The retired officer is correct. The military WILL NOT let single parents enlist (I am in the same boat as you). A commission (as an officer) is diffrent than an enlistment (thus, why they are called "enlisted personnel"). With a CJ degree, you may want to see about a commission in the Security Police, or may check with AF Professional Officer Recruiting and see how the AF can pay for you Graduate studies as a lawyer and get a commission as a JAG (military lawyer). Call 1-800-423-USAF and ask them to direct you to the nearest officer recruiter. (Empasize "OFFICER" recruiter.)
