Hello I have many questions some maybe dumb, but I am two months away from leaving off to TX for basic and I am freacked out. First I would like to know dumb things like what happens when I get my period? I usually have to go to the bathroom a lot, what am I suppost to do when I am in? Also I am planning on getting married during tech school, and I want to know if its possible? will I be able to live with him? or at least the freedom to go out everyday to see him? Something that I would really like to know because of this marriege thing is how long tech school is gonna be, I sign under open general so I choose my job in basic, most likely I'll get something on medical cause I am not a citizen, but what is the shortest and logest time I could possibly be in tech school, if I choose a medical job?
Please help me I really need it. If possible email me: sakuraW@go.com I would really appriciated.
Oh also I heard something about having some time to go to church on sundays during basic, please tell me about that, I am christian and I would like to know if thats true.
Again thank you and please writte to me!!

"First I would like to know dumb things like what happens when I get my period?"
You do what you normally do when you have your cycle :) Seriously. It doesn't stop you, they won't deny you the opportunity to go to the bathroom, and since a great deal of AF basic is classroom work, you won't need to worry too much about it. Just make sure you take "supplies" with you wherever you go.
Marriage...It depends on your tech school - the length of it - and your command if you will be able to live with him or not. I know in the Army, if you marry another servicemember during AIT (tech school), and don't tell anyone before the fact, they probably won't let you. But...the Air Force is a LOT different in that regard.
I'm not sure where Air Force medical does their training, Army does it at Ft Sam Houston, also in San Antonio. Most of the medical schools are fairly long and rigorous, example - school for X-Ray technicians is over a year if I'm not mistaken. D'Hana, who usually posts on the Army board, can give you more guidance on it.
Religious services. Yes, you will be able to attend. They cannot deny you the opportunity to practice your faith. The only time they can restrict a person is if they are of a Pagan persuasion, and that's an entirely different story - doesn't matter anyway, because they have those services as well at Lackland.
Hope this helps, and good luck to you.

OK, here's my 2 cents worth, As SGTD said, when you have your period, you have your period. Make sure you take your hygiene products of choice with you to basic. The selection at the bases leaves a lot to be desired. With marriage while in tech training, it is usually allowed, with permission from your command. Depending on your grades, how long your training is, and where it is will be if you are allowed to live with your spouse. Usually, unless your school is over a year in one location you technically can't live off post since you are a student. Like I said though that is always subject to command decision. Army medical training is at Ft Sam Houston, TX (just outside of San Antonio). You start out with a 10 week medic school (91B) and then if you are actually going to be say, an xray tech you add that on. Air Force medicine, after your basic at Lackland AFB, TX (again just outside of San Antonio) you go to Sheppard AFB, KS. As a medical technician I believe the school is something like 5 months long but after around 2 or 3 months you go to an AF hospital for OJT (on the job training). Religion, everybody is religious during basic. I have a carnal fear that the church ceiling will fall in on me if I walk into a church but during basic training I went faithfully every Sunday. I went to ARMY basic at FT Dix, NJ but I went to just escape and relax. The Chaplains go full barrel to be able to let everybody just have peace for a couple of hours. I hope this helps, I do recomend that you start your citizenship process ASAP though. I was in the ARMY for 9 years without a secret clearance but the AF made me get one right away. In my case it was because I'm in a flying position but I know the AF has a lot of assignments and exercises in which it is required and you need citizenship to get a clearance. Good luck.
