: I am gonna do it! I am going to get my butt in gear and go for the AFOQT..
: first I need to study!!! LOL, but- I'm going to do it. BUT I am in search
: of a mentor- Yes, an Officer would be ideal, but Enlisted would be just as
: appreciated. I am going to take the Officer test, but I would like
: SUPPORT, someone to share emails with, advice, and just someone to bounce
: the rigors of this off of. Anyone willing to help? This place has been
: very helpful to me, but I would like some 1-on-1 talking and exchanges.
:
: If anyone is interested, please email me in the aforementioned email addy. I

Well Jen, you sure have been at this for a while. As the facilitator for this webpage, I've been following your questions for quite some time. If you do not have a college degree and will enter as an enlisted member, recommend you try and find a senior NCO rather than an officer. Life is different between the two groups (I was a SNCO before I was commissioned, but that was 17 years ago)and the SNCO can give you the real scoop of what you'll go through as an enlisted member. Study hard and good luck. Diane

YES! I have the college degree(s) and Im ready. I wanted to find a civ. job to see if thats what I wanted- and I have it, but I have this desire to keep going into the AF while I can! I have sent letters to 6 officers at Luke AFB here in Phx and I am awaiting to see if they would like to meet to discuss their AFSC's and careers as Officers. I hope to receive letters of recommendation from them in the future for my pkg. I just recvd the GRE book I ordered and will begin studying for my AFOQT to take by the end of December.

I have been managing on my own about the information. I try to email AF bases and get some responses, but they are hard to come by. I lucked out when I first started this as an enlistee, but now its different now.

I have been doing this for about ??? -=LOL=- 1yr 7mos now. I DEPd in 1-Sept-99 and got out of that to graduate in April-00. So its been a journey, I'll tell you what!! lol..

thanks for the support Diane- all is appreciated and saved up!
