It definately depends on several factors. If you have a college degree and are looking at becoming an officer, I think all of the services have something to offer. I heard G. Gordon Liddy say on the radio that being a marine officer was the best way to go. I think he is biased though. Physically, the marines will be a lot tougher - but that can be a good thing too. It'll keep you in better physical shape. If you are going in as an enlisted member and undecided as to what you want to do and how long you want to stay, I'd have to say the Air Force is a better choice. It is well known within all the branches of service that the Air Force takes better care of its people. They spend more money on dormitories, housing, dining facilities, and other programs, especially for the young troops. Once you get through basic training and your initial technical training, it's almost like having a regular job. ALMOST. I am a linguist in the Air Force and I have been in for almost 15 years. Right now, the Air Force is in need of linguists and is offering some great bonuses! Check into it if it interests you. Tell your recruiter to schedule for a DLAB (Defense Language Aptitude Battery). Good luck!
