8 wks. for basic now?

I heard that basic is being changed to eight weeks instead of six; is this true? If so what will be added to basic and when will this take effect? I am leaving in <3 months and wondering if I will be affected by this change.

finally they are lengthening the BT time.. took long enough. Ive heard that it should be longer from sooo many people. Personally I hope they make the FX longer... from what Ive heard it may be too short.

Dear Sir,

I am trying to confirm a rumor that might go along with another rumor re: Basic Training. I have been informed that BT is going to be 8 weeks instead of 6 weeks. Would that likewise affect OTS? I am not concerned about the length of OTS, in anyway, but it would be nice to quelch the rumor in one form or another.

At this time, my recruiter is on leave and will not be returning for a time. I am curious about this change.
