If you have an eye refraction test done, and the diopters are over .7, then you would be disqualified. Lasik is disqualifying unless it has been over a year and you have a good prognosis, you can get in on a waiver for that.

It also depends upon the jobs too. If you interested in becoming a pilot, the vision requirements are very strick. Lasik waivers coming in through OTS are not always approved. I haven't seen one yet.

For Enlistment Purposes:
Color vision is required for all electronics and mechanical jobs.

Depth perception is required for some intelligence jobs and required for most Electronic and Mechanical jobs.

Basically, the recruiter will set up a physical for you at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). Your vision results will come from that physical and then they will make a determination what you do and do not qualify for.

Good Luck
