I've read a lot of posts and books about Marine Corp boot camp for enlisted personnel, but can't seem to find much information on what OCC is like. Is it very similar to the enlisted boot camp?

I'm in the process of filling out my Marine officer application, so I'd appreciate any advice or information anyone can provide on what I should expect in OCC.

Thanks!

I did some digging and found a good book to about officer training: "One of Us, Officers of Marines" by Jack Ruppert (ISBN 0-275-97222-4). In fact it's the only one I've found that talks specifically about OCS and The Basic School.

The only downside is its pricetag: $50. I bought it because I considered it a good investment for my own journey to becoming an officer of Marines. But it might be too expensive for casual reading.

Also, the official OCS website at www.ocs.usmc.mil has been overhauled to include more up to date training and prep information.
