View Full Version : Considering Joining

I've been thinking about joining (either the Marines or the Army) once I graduate highschool as means to pay for college, gain some focus on life, and serve my country. I want to be a Mortuary Affairs Specialist (92M) and have to questions;

1. Are there any women out there who are/were Mortuary Affairs Specialists, and is there anything they can tell me about it? (Male to female ratio, difficulties of the job both physically and mentally, plus the whole career in general.)

2. Now, I know you don't know me at all but I was wondering which you think I would be better suited for (Marines or the Army) and what the differences between the two are.

I'm 5'4 and 107 lbs (that's average.) I have always been athletic and like structure in my life. I enjoy fishing, biking, soccer, writing and photography. I do come from a family of pacifists (very much so in fact) but, I feel a sort of duty to my country and especially with the war that is going on now. I've always been a bit of tomboy and I guess in military that would help. I don't know what else to say about my self, and would appreciate if you would answer my questions.
