When I was in college I and wanted to do oral interviews with WASPs (women air force service pilots) and then transcribe the interviews to paper and put together a research thesis, I was required to visit the college ethics department and write up a statement of understanding for the interviewees. (Human Subjects Institutional Review board)

It listed my name, where I went to school, who I was studying under, what class it was for, the purpose of the project, who will be conducting the project, what means will be used during the interview, what happens with the interview/answers after completion, participation guidelines, anonymity and contact numbers.

Who do I know who I am talking to unless you ID yourself to me first- first/last name is not sufficient.

It's not my duty to ask those items, its the duty of the requestor to do so, which instills faith and integrity in their project.

Yes, I'm aware this forum has the highest of integrity and is well known in DoD circles, but given the climate we live in- there is a reasonable expectation that public affairs at a local base can gather interviewees for these projects- if not the requestors providing the information above the first time they ask for assistance.
