did they ever change over the stock shirt/black tab to the more 'leatherneck' collar on the female dress blues? or are they still considering it...? what about the white belt?

The Marine COrps did a wear test back in 2002 on the new version of the female dress blues. I actually had an opportunity to see the test uniform because i was stationed at Parris Island and in the unit reponsible for the test and a member of the unifrom board. The uniform had the extended red piping all the way down the front of the ocat and around the cuffs of the sleeves, the same as the male version and it incorporated belt loops so that a femal could wear the white belt with the plat and sword/scabbard if required. I personnaly thought the uniform looked sharo and was an improvement over the current uniform. After the wear tests were completed and surveys taken the uniform board voted to scrape the new female dress blue coat, to my disappointment. You can keep current on all uniform issues in the COrps by visiting their website at: http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/sites/mcub/ They post of all the decisions of unifrom board meetings and all changes to policies regrading unifroms. You can also view the plates of the uniforms as well. To my knowledge they were never considering changing the collar of teh uniform to the male "chocker" "leatherneck" style. The only wre changing the piping.

thanks for the info. that's odd though, because i've seen posters where the female in 'blues is wearing the white belt...looks SO much better.

The white belt ahs always been worn with the dress blues for cermonial details or whenever the sword is required and that is the perscribed uniform for wear. It is just worn over the outside of the coat and there are no belt loops to hold it in place. Basically that was the only difference with proposed new blues for the white belt, was the addition of belt loops to be able to wear the same white belt as the men or the white belt for the sword. Hope this helps.
