I talked to a Marine recruiter at my school about two months ago. He gave me his number to contact him and the location of his recruiting office. Well I called him the next day and he was out of the office, I called him again and he was out again. After trying to contact him through the phone I went down to the recruiting office, and he wasnt in his office. I have been trying to get a hold of him for about two months now. Is he avoiding me? His recuriting office is the only one in my area. Should I keep trying to contact him or look into another branch of the military?

Just because you can't get a hold of him doesnt mean you should change services. Did you ever leave messages for him? Are there more recruiters in the office that you can talk to? I doubt that he's trying to avoid you. It might just be bad timing. Don't give up though. Call again.

Hi Karen,
I had a similar problem too. It took me about 6 months to finally contact a recruiter via telephone. You should try calling at around 8:30 or 9am for 5 consecutive business days. Don't give up! The recuiters are very busy people and they travel a lot.
I've found that leaving your cell phone number, if you have one, with the recruiter is very helpful. It might also help to contact another Marine recruiter in the area. Explain the situation and I'm sure he'll try to help you. He will most likely know the other guy and pass along the message.
Good luck!
