Im wanting to join the Marines. A few years ago I talked to them but I didnt have any college credits, nor was I any good at swimming, so I went to the army recruiter and nearly joined the army. However I couldnt pass the asvab and tried several times. Anyhow I went back to college and got my college credits, and have been studying this asvab for a few months. Im going to take the written version of the test this week with the Marines, so please wish me luck.

I feel pulled to the Marines, and I may not be a great swimmer either, but I will learn even if I get thrown in lol.

Any tips on how to deal with test anxiety?

Deep breathing helps me. Get a good night's rest before hand, eat balanced, nutritious meals and drink plenty of water. Get to the testing site early so you're not stressed about traffic. Think positively -- think "I can do this!" not "Oh, no, a test!" Brush up on basic knowledge you feel weak on. I'm taking the ASVAB at the end of the week, so I'm brushing up on my algebra and geometry equations.

Good luck! You can do this! :D

I totally agree with NightPoet! When I took the test I completely freaked out, and ended up with a score of 51. I passed, but I could've done so much better! I say just relax, and you'll do fine. Good luck to you both, ya'll with do just fine!

I just spoke with the recruiter, going tomorrow night to take the test.
I also wish you luck as well on your upcoming asvab.

no matter how dumb you are, your asvab score can get pretty high. i've met some straight up retards in the corps. and swimming is not that big a deal. i know a lot of marines that really hate to swim and don't do it well at all. most mos's you only qual once a year. talk to your recruiter before you start trying to figure everything out yourself.
