Hi! I am in the process of joining the reg force as an Air Log officer. I would like to get some information from anyone who has a partner/spouse in the military reg force as well. Did you have trouble with postings e.g together? ANy good or bad experiences you may have had I would appreciate hearing about, Thanks, JOY.

Hi. My husband is in the reserves, not the reg force, but I can tell you what it's like for the service couples that I work with. The career managers of both people will try to accommodate you as a couple as much as possible, but of course there are no guarantees. For couples whose jobs are not both available in the same place (ie an air force mechanic and an army gunner), you might find yourselves separated. If you are in similar trades, or trades that are found on most bases (ie LogO and MP), then you will likely be posted together for your whole careers. Your personnel records will include "service spouse", and they will know not to deploy you together if you have kids, etc.
