Curious as to how many are helping in the doctoral research project on the 14th Army Band going on at Arizona State University.

I have also. If you haven't been in contact with the reunion committee, you should as they can give you a better idea of who is participating as many of us are. If you need some contact addresses of the committee, just let me know.

Thanks for the reply, Paula.
I have never heard of the reunion committee. What does this committee do?

The committee is pretty much Dixie Jensen and Karen Severson and they compile all the addresses and updates on everyone they have contact with and make all the arrangements for the reunions. Everything from hotel accommodations to getting the WAC Chapel reserved.

Yes--I would like to know who is participating! I've lost touch with all the WAC bandmembers I served with. I recently found out that there was a reunion last October which I knew nothing about. Thanks for your reply!

I am serving on the committee for the 2008 WAC Band reunion. I attended the 2006 reunion but missed the 2004 reunion because I was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. I'm also in contact with the young lady that's doing her thesis on the WAC Band. She plays flute/piccolo and played with us at the 2006 reunion. I would love to hear from anyone that served in the WAC Band and talk to you about attending the 2008 reunion.
Also, whoever Classic57 is, I hope you're not distributing the reunion contact list without permission. I will be contacting Dixie Jensen and Karen Syverson.

Pat, so good to see you here! I remember you well and also missed the reuniions because of health reasons. You might remember me better as Lurch. I won't be able to make this one either as I am back in school after all these years. I remember when you got your Celica. Has anyone heard from Della Coates?

Your name came up at the 2006 reunion as one of the people we'd really like to find. Della was another one but we haven't been able to find her either. Karen Syverson and I have searched all over the internet for people we can remember but it's difficult because it's been too many years and people's names have changed and our memories aren't what they used to be.;)
We've already had one committee meeting for the 2008 reunion to talk about the music for 2008. We'll be meeting up again in February but I'm pretty much in constant contact with Dixie and Karen now. It's amazing how many WACS just retired and stayed in Anniston.
The 2006 reunion was great. We didn't sound as good as we used to but I thought we still sounded pretty good considering that there was only a handful of us that are still playing. I hadn't picked up a trombone in thirty years until about six months prior to the reunion.
Since you're the WEBADMIN for the site you've got my offline contact info so if you want to talk some more let me know yours and I'll give you some more updates on the reunion.

If you want to contact me regarding the 2008 reunion PLEASE respond to this message. I'm on the 2008 reunion committee and we're trying to locate all former members of the WAC Band.

No, Pat, I haven't distributed anything without permission. If someone wanted to contact Karen and Dixie, I would have given their email address, which I don't think would have been improper, but other than that, I would not give out any information about anyone without asking their permission first. Chill.

Has anyone heard any news as to how the ASU history project on the 14th Army Band is coming along? I've looked on the web but all I've seen is the same stuff I've seen from before with nothing new added. Just curious.

Therese had major surgery, and I think that set things back for a while. Hope she's recovering well.
